On March 3rd, 2017, Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS) hosted the Canadiana Gala in support of the School’s Professional Ballet Program and Sharing Dance Program. The event was co-chaired by Ann Lawson-Brehl and Kim Tanenbaum and played a key role in the School’s annual fundraising, raising over 40% of the annual goal in a single night. The Canadian themed evening encouraged guests to embrace their patriotic side and featured a cocktail reception, a gourmet four-course dinner, a captivating performance by NBS students and a luxury raffle. The theme was fitting in this sesquicentennial year as NBS mirrors many of Canada’s outstanding attributes: youthful, welcoming of diversity, respected internationally, and a source of pride for many.
